Winners 2021

Urgent Matters, CORD, and ACEP are pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 Emergency Medicine Innovators of the Year Award, a competition to foster innovation in emergency departments nationwide.

The Emergency Medicine Innovator of the Year Award provides an opportunity for multidisciplinary teams to be acknowledged for cutting-edge innovations in emergency medicine. The award provides a platform for sharing effective solutions that address common issues facing the emergency medicine community.

The top-rated innovations were assessed based on their novelty, exportability, effectiveness, clarity, and on their ability to be used by a multi-disciplinary health care team.

Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Foohey, Dr. Dennis Ren, Dr. Pavan Zaveri, Dr. James Leung, Dr. Sam Zhao, and Dr. Brian Lee, for their innovation “The Virtual Resus Room.” An open-access educational tool that uses Google Slides and Zoom to offer online simulation.
