Urgent Matters serves as a dissemination vehicle for strategies on emergency department (ED) patient flow and quality. We develop quarterly e-newsletters, educational webinars, a searchable collection of ED improvement tools and strategies, national conferences, and a podcast series for a multi-disciplinary audience of emergency care stakeholders. Urgent Matters serves as a portal for innovative flow strategies, creating a central resource for hospital staff to discover field-tested initiatives that can be tailored to their organization.
Urgent Matters' writing team publishes articles focusing on ED patient flow, quality improvement, innovation, health equity, disaster medicine, health policy, and other areas of interest to our over 7,500 subscribers including ED physicians, nurses, other providers, hospital administrators, and individuals working in research and policy.
UrgentMatters is partnering with ACEP and CORD to identify and celebrate EM Innovators of the Year. Categories of innovation include improvements to quality of care, patient safety, Emergency Department (ED) flow, delivery of care, patient experience, and staff/trainee education in the ED.
